Willie Mae Rainwater was the wife of John(Tubby) Walton Rainwater. Together they raised three sons and ran Rainwater Upholstery on Fairground Street in Marietta, GA. She was a life long plant and animal lover.
She was born in Canton, Ga, but lived most of her childhood in Villa Rica, GA. She worked at the hoisery mill when she was a young woman. She married John "Tubby" Rainwater and had three sons: John M. Rainwater, Ronald Rainwater, and Stanly Dee Rainwater.
After the death of Tubby in 1982, she continued to run Rainwater Upholstery with ther youngest son Stanley "Dee" Rainwater until both of their deaths in 2008.
