Theresa Gagas, 93, town of Sharon, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at St. Michael's Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. The Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiated. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends called at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. The Sacred Heart Rosary Society, of which Mrs. Gagas was a 50-year member, prayed a rosary at the church.
Mrs. Gagas was born on March 28, 1910, in the town of Carson, to the late Martin and Henrietta (Wisnewski) Lehman. She attended Green Meadow schools in Mill Creek.
She was married to Henry Gagas on July 7, 1931, at Sacred Heart Church. The couple farmed in the town of Sharon from 1933 until their retirement in 1972. Mr. Gagas died in August 1980. Theresa has lived at her present address since 1995.
She enjoyed embroidery, playing 500 rummy, baking and her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Irene) Gagas, Stevens Point, and Henry Jr., Custer; two daughters, Grace (Jim) Wood, Chicago, and Renetta Pezewski, Custer; one brother, Adam (Louretta) Lehman, Wooddale, IL; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 10 brothers and sisters and three stepbrothers.
