Eva A. Davis, 77, of South Sioux City, died Tuesday, July 31, 1990, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brenda Pfeifly of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family present from 7-8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis, the former Eva Adeline Van Cleave, was born April 24, 1913, at Homer, Neb., daughter of Phillip C. and Mary Ann (Van Cleave) Van Cleave. She married Horace Clift Nov. 28, 1932, at Elk Point, S.D. He died Aug. 27, 1965, in Laurel, Neb. She later married Bud Davis, who preceded her in death. She was a longtime resident of Dakota County, and was a waitress at Curly's Cafe for 20 years. She retired in 1978.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Hazel Clift of Bethel, N.C., a brother, Tom Van Cleave of South Sioux City; two grandchildren, Russell Clift and Christine Marie Brown; a great-grandson, Matthew Steven Brown, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mitch and Bill Hedrick, Vernon Dahl, Al Becker, Francis Crowe and Richard Krumwiede.
