Brooks, Johnnie Frances Grinstead
FT. OGLETHORPE — Johnnie Frances Grinstead Brooks, 74, of Ft. Oglethorpe, and formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at Hutchinson Memorial Hospital in Ft. Oglethorpe. Graveside rites will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Brady officiating.
Casketbearers will be Gadston Moore, Dusty Moore, Brandon O'Neal, James Hampton, Josh Hood and Shane Kastelic.
Born Oct. 6, 1934, in Laurens County, Mrs. Brooks was the daughter of the late Alfred G. Grinstead and Mattie Lou Paschal Grinstead. She was a homemaker and was a member of Moultrie Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Brooks, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Michael Brooks; one sister, Loree Fie; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
