She is survived by her daughters, Simone Bartels of Irvine, CA, Nicole Zeidan and her husband, Adel, of Huntington Beach, CA, and Renee Garner and her husband, Randy, of Willows, CA. Marcella is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Bryan Bartels, Denyse Horner, and Sarah Bishay, Mustafa and Tarick Zeidan, and John, Ryan, and Brianna Garner, five great-grandchildren, and four nieces. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Marcel in 1976, and sisters, Mildred and Margaret.
Born in Mankato, Minnesota, on August 9, 1922, to Milo and Florence Johnson, Marcella was one of three daughters. She graduated from Teachers College High School in Mankato in 1939 and moved with her family to San Francisco where she met the love of her life and was married in 1944. They made their home in Southern California where they raised their three daughters until they retired to Clearlake Oaks in 1973.
A homemaker, Marcella enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being outdoors whenever she could. Upon retirement, she enjoyed working in the Grandmother Program at East Lake School in Clearlake Oaks and being with her cherished dog, Peaches. Marcella moved to Willows in 1999 to be near to her family and finally to Chico.
