The Leavenworth Echo - Apr 2, 1920

Myrtle Sparks was born Jan. 1st, 1891; in Ellsworth county, Kansas, and paused away at her home in Peshastin March 17th, 1920, She was married Feb. 14th, 1912, to Alfred Darlington, five children being horn to this union. She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, besides her husband and children, five sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Darlington was genuinely converted to God in her early life, and united with the Methodist church, tho her many home duties prevented her from taking an active part in the public activities of the church. But her many friends have always been impressed by her sincerity and devotion to God, and her precious memory and sacred influence remains to bless and comfort bereaved hearts upon whom the burden of sorrow rests heavily.

The Leavenworth Echo - Mar 26, 1914

Cashmere Record: The news of the death of Mrs. Al Darlington at Peshastin on Tuesday caused profound sadness among her wide circle of friends in Cashmere. The Darlingtons were residents of Cashmere for several years until the family moved two years ago to their orchard tract. Mrs. Darlington died very suddenly from influenza. To mourn her loss are left her husband and five small children.

Mr. and Mrs.. Harry K. Carr, of Seattle, were over last week to attend the funeral of Mrs. Carr's sister. Mrs. A. P. Darlington of near Peshastin, who died March 17. The funeral was held last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Carr returned home the first of the week. They were former residents of Leavenworth, Mr. Carr coming here at the time the Great Northern Lumber Mill was being installed, and they are always interested in "the old home town" and its people.
