Larry Skelton, 57, of Victoria died Friday, September 11, 2009, in Victoria.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Heritage Funeral Home of Memory Gardens Chapel, with Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at the funeral home.
Larry was born October 30, 1951 in Greenwood, Mississippi to John Lewis and Mary Lee (Daves) Skelton. He served his country in the National Guard. Larry married Emily Moss in 1970. He and Emily attended church at Northside Baptist in Victoria. Larry was an avid motorcyclist and fisherman and was employed by Compressor Systems, Inc.
He has been reunited in death with his daughter, Mary Emily Skelton Kalil, who preceded him in death February 9, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother.
Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Emily Moss Skelton; son, Avery Skelton and wife, Amber; son- in-law, Jimmy Kalil; grandchildren, Warren Brister, Bella Kalil and Taylor Skelton; brother, Wayne Skelton and wife, Gloria; sister, Donna Skelton Padgett; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his extended family at Compressor Systems, Inc.
