Elizabeth Rowan Kelley was born in New York State near Ogdensburg,
Aug. 2, 1856, and died July 31, 1942 in Chicago, Ill. She came to Royalton,
Wis., with her parents at the age of ten, where Jan. 2, 1876 she married
Sylvanus Kelley. There were three children born to them. After Mr. Kelley's
death, March 10, 1914, Mrs. Kelley left for Chicago where she spent divided
time between her daughter Edith in chicago and her son George in Vicksburg
, Miss. She also leaves six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A
simple service was held in Chicago Saturday evening, then she was brought
to her old home in Royalton where regular services were held in the
Congregational church Monday afternoon and internment was made in
Royalton cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Edith Sweet, Chicago, and two sons,
Lewis El Kelley of Rhinelander and George S. Kelley of Vicksburg, Miss.
