On Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, Bonnie L. Brown left the confinement of her earthly body and now she is resting in the arm's of our Lord and Savior. She was born on Oct. 24, 1924, to James C. Schmidt and Edith Godkin Schmidt in Waller County, Texas. A long time resident of Lakehills, Texas, a faithful Christian who was dedicated to praying for her family and reading her Bible. She graduated Valedictorian of her class from Pattison High School in Walter County. She lived at the Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Boerne, Texas, where she was well cared for, loved and will be missed. She was preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen Binford; father, James C. Schmidt; mother, Edith I. Godkin Schmidt; sister, Irma Tarkington; brothers, James C. Schmidt Jr. and Maurice Schmidt; niece, Judith Krischke; great-nieces, Jeannie Martin and Jeannette Martin. Bonnie was the mother of six children, Linda D. McCarter, of Lakehills, and Kathleen I. Binford, who awaited her arrival in Heaven, David H. Binford (Nan), of Rock Comfort, Mo., Debra F. Clark Perrodin, of San Antonio, Texas, DeAnn I. Clark-Valdez, of Lakehills, and Michele C. Burge (James), of Carthage, Mo.; sisters, Alma Mathis, of Katy, Texas, and Jean Gillespie, of Cold Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Mark Clark, Diann Flowers, Greg Binford, Christy Clark, Tim Binford, Misti Wright, Howard Binford, Matthew Sumrall, Samantha Binford, Kinneth Binford, Justin Clark, Amber Clark, Brian Valdez, Stephen Clark, Jonathan Burge and Katie Burge; great-grandchildren, Ashley Reyes (Paul), Beau Flowers, Hailee Binford, Kaela Clark, Kendall Clark, Aliyah Pritchett, Kahmel Pritchett, Mattew Caleb Sumrall, Mackinzie Sumrall, Ava Binford and Alexandra Netherlin; great-great-grandson, Luke A. Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends and her extended family at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. Officiated by Brother Ryan Laden. Interment will be in Bandera Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Clark, Greg Binford, Tim Binford, Howard Binford, Matthew Sumrall, Kinneth Binford, Justin Clark, Brian Valdez, Stephen Clark and Jonathan Burge.
