Minnice Theodore "Theo" Had bone cancer, Theo's leg was amputated at St. Anthony's Hospital in Terre Haute and he was brought home by his Uncle Oliver P. Mounts by electric rail line from Terre Haute to Sullivan and then back to his home 5 miles north of Carlise with his parents, his leg was buried in Bethany cemetery few weeks before Theo died and he was buried with it in Bethany after developing TB.

HAD AN OPERATION PERFORMED
And For Days He Gradually Improved, But A Relapse Finally Ended All His Suffering.
Theodore Carrico of Haddan township died Friday morning after an illness of several weeks' duration. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carrico and his loss is greatly felt by many acquaintances throughout the county. He had lingered for several days between life and death and his friends were not surprised to learn that he had passed away.
Theodore was born July 28, 1888 and departed this life December 27, 1906, being 18 years, 5 months, and 1 day old at the time of his death.
About eight weeks ago he was taken to Terre Haute where he underwent an operation, having his right leg amputated. He rallied nicely over the shock of the operation and three weeks ago was brought home. He gradually grew better until that dread disease tuberculosis, attacked, which resulted in death. Theodore had a bright, cheerful disposition, and by his happy face, he had won a place in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves a father, mother and one sister Lavina, and a host of friends and relatives to mourn a loss, The remains were interred at Bethany.
