Alva Rose Spevak Draper

Age 91, of Burke, VA, formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at her home. Alva, daughter of the late E. Charles Spevak and Rosa Teuchert Spevak, was born in Chester, PA on August 30, 1918 and graduated from Ridley Township High School, class of 1936. Her husband of 60 years, Norman J. Draper, Sr. died in 2001.She was predeceased by sisters Hilda Maguire, Bertha Embon, Catherine Spevak and Aileen Holmes and a brother Harry Spevak

Alva is survived by her son, Norman John Draper, Jr. and his wife, Marcia Draper of Southport, NC; her daughter, Sharon Jean Turner and her husband, Patrick Turner of Rehoboth Beach, DE; a brother Alfred V. Spevak of Linwood, Pa. 8 grandchildren, Catherine Draper-Cowan, Lloyd Draper, Sam Draper, Debra Moone, Marcia Draper, Emily Lloyd, Elizabeth Gibbons, and David Lloyd; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15, at 11 am, at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park by the Rev Karen Onesti.
