Died at her residence in Whitneyville, Cass County, July 1 1876, of consumption, Mrs Harriet A Denham, formerly a resident of Princeton Illinois. Mrs Denham was born in Princeton, April 24 1834 and was married to Cornelius Denham January 1 1852, with whom she removed to Iowa in the spring of 1873. Her health has been very poor ever since her residence in Iowa and she gradually sunk lower until it became apparent to herself and family that she would soon be called to dwell with her Saviour, whom she had trusted for many years. In conversation with her family she expressed herself as perfectly willing to go and felt sure that the Friend on whom she leaned in life with such a confidence would not forsake her in death. The funeral took place at her residence on Sunday July 2 and was largely attended. Rev Mr Crown conducted the services, speaking from Revelations ?? and 14th verses. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss who have the deepest sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement, and who desire in turn to thank the neighbors for their many acts of kindness all through their many dark and anxious hours.
