Al was married to my husband's Aunt Hazel. Thank you to Glenn Geirland for adding the birth and death information.

Dr. Aldrich attended Hamlin University in St. Paul before attending medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago. Between those two, however, he served our country in the US Navy.

In the 50 years as a physician, Dr. Aldrich estimated he delivered at least 600-700 babies, many at home, in the early days, by the aid of lantern, flashlight, etc. or whatever was available. Back then, he made house calls in the mud, snow and other inclement weather.

He was a health officer, president of the Tri-County Medical Society, President of the Ithaca Golf Club, member of the Masons, V.F.W., American Legion and the Ithaca cribbage club.
He also enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds.
