HALLOWELL -- Dorothy Cole Berry, 91, of Maple Street passed away at her home peacefully Monday, Sept. 22, 2008. She was born in Augusta on Dec. 23, 1916, a daughter of William and Dora McKenney Cole.
Dorothy was a former member of the Augusta Country Club. She had been employed for 35 years for the state in legislative research.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Berry, who died in April 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Lapham, of Hallowell; two grandchildren, Jennifer Heneberry, of West Roxbury, Mass., and Jeff Lapham, of Hudson, N.H.; a great-grandson, Noah, of Hudson, N.H.; and a sister, Nancy Patterson, of Hallowell.
At her request, there will be no services. A burial will take place beside her husband in the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. (Kennebec Journal 9/24/2008)
