Elsie G. Anthony, 81, of Strangford, Pa., passed peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, Pa. She was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Summerville, Pa., a daughter of the late Miles and Della (Crawford) Adams.

She was a member of Independant Baptist Church, Blairsville. Prior to retirement after 22 years of service, she was employed in the dietary department at Torrance State Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Anthony and wife, Carolyn, and Larry Anthony and wife, Rebecca, all of Blairsville; two daughters, Kathy Anthony, of Blairsville, and Sandra Pape and husband, Mark, of North Babylon, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Judith, David, Jonathon, Cheryl, Robert, Kenneth and Cindy; and three great-grandchildren, Robert "Buddy", Kaitlyn and Alison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Anthony, in 1962; a son, Kenneth Anthony, in 1942; three brothers, Ernest, Alfred and Preston Adams; and two sisters, Mazie Whiteman and Lillian Gay.

Friends will be received at the JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Doug McCord officiating. Memorial donations may be made to VNA/Hospice Foundation, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701. Interment in Blairsville Cemetery.
