Joan Ginley, of Nanticoke, formerly of Sugar Notch, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Kindred Hospital section of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1928, in Swoyersville, a daughter of the late John and Anna Tomascovic Yuhas. Joan was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1947.

Prior to her marriage, she worked at American Tobacco in the Lee Park Section of Hanover Township, and after marriage, she was a proud homemaker.

After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively. She enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved very much.

She was a member of Holy Family/St. Charles Church, Sugar Notch, where she was a Eucharistic Minister for many years, and also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She and her husband, John, would have celebrated their 47th anniversary on September 15, 2009.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Theresa and her husband, Jim Kinney, of Sugar Notch; Ann and her husband, Al Cramton, of Huntley, Ill.; grandson Sean Kinney; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Yuhas.

Joan's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Potorski and his staff, Dr. John Citti, Renal Consultants of Wyoming Valley, the kind nurses and staff of Kindred Hospital, the physicians and staff of the CCU at General Hospital and the Visiting Angels.

A funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Joan's name to Holy Family/St. Charles Church, Sugar Notch.
