JEANETTE A. BARRON

Jeanette A. Barron, age 72, a resident at Wesley Manor, departed her earthly life and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, her husband, Sam Barron, Jr. and many loved ones, on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2009, with her loved ones by her side.

Graveside services will be held at 4 P.M. Friday, September 11, 2009, at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Chaplain Eddie Biss officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will be receiving friends at the cemetery from 3 to 4 P.M. on Friday, September 11, 2009. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home of her sister, Sarah Petersen, 272 Pacific St. Napier Field. Flowers will be accepted.

Mrs. Barron was born December 3, 1936 in Houston County, Alabama the daughter of the late James Appling and Eunice Lomineck Appling. She lived in Columbia and Dothan most of her life. Jeanette was the oldest of five children. She met Sam Barron, Jr and they were married on November 7, 1957. They were married 50 years until his death, August 2, 2008. They loved each other dearly and were devoted to one another. She was of the Baptist Faith. She worked at Martin Shoe Store for several years as cashier, shoe clerk, and bookkeeper for Frank Martin, Sr. She loved and enjoyed her employment there. Later, both Sam and she moved to Lake Seminole, GA. They were commercial Catfish Fishermen for several years before retiring and moving back home to Dothan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, husband, Sam Barron, Jr., brother, Ellis Appling, Sr., sister, Mary Helen Lominick, brothers-in-law, Tony Hartzog, Sr., and Darwin Whitehead, sister-in-law, Arlene Knight and niece, Kristina Hartzog Ritchie.

Survivors are her brother, Earl Appling and wife, Lee, sister, Sarah Petersen and husband, Marlin,step-children, Harold Barron, Linda Cotton, Charles Barron, Sammy Barron, Kathy Beaty, Nancy Spivey, sister-in-law, Velender Appling and Doris Whitehead, brother-in-law, Frank Lominick, several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Mrs. Barron's family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Peter Jensen and staff, Wesley Manor and staff, especially nurse, Frances Quaid, and to Wiregrass Hospice and staff, especially Dana Elliott and Chaplain Eddie Biss and to everyone who had a part in the loving care given and the love and kindness shown for Jeanette. Thank you all so very much!
