Daniel Bixler, the son of Jacob Bichsel (born September 28, 1801, in Tscheiwo, Gemeinde Court, Switzerland, and died May 14, 1871) and Elisabeth (Kammerman) Bichsel (born Septmeber 28, 1797, in Munster, Canton Bern, Switzerland, and died May 20, 1889), married Catharine Hofstetter on May 24, 1860.
