Darlene Mae Patterson of Redmond died May 30, 2003 of natural causes. She was 67.

Mrs. Patterson was born July 17, 1935, in Portland to Arthur and Opal (Short) Stone. She was raised in California and graduated from Freemont High School in Oakland, Calif. She married Patrick Patterson in 1961.

She lived in the Bay area until 1994 when she moved to Redmond.

Mrs. Patterson worked as a caregiver for the Opportunity Foundation in Redmond. She retired in 2002.

She was a member of the Redmond Free Methodist Church.

Mrs. Patterson enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of Redmond; two sons, David Valenzuela of Springfield and Timothy of Hayward, Calif.; two daughters, Dena Valenzuela and Karon Relei, both of Redmond; her father, Jack Faust of Hayward; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and stepfather.
