Costlow, Mable Gideon


CHANDLER - Service for Mable Gideon Costlow, 88, Chandler, formerly of the New York community, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at LaPoynor Church of Christ with Steve Handley and the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating.

Burial will follow in LaRue Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.

Mrs. Costlow died Sept. 5, 2009, in Tyler.

She was born May 25, 1921, in Henderson County to the late John Willis and Emma Elizabeth Barton Gideon. She was a resident of the New York community most of her life and was a member of LaPoynor Church of Christ.

Mrs. Costlow was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, L.D. Costlow in 1992, four stepchildren, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include sons, Philip Costlow and wife Pat, Magnolia, Gaylon Costlow and wife Debra, Gary Costlow and wife Janet, all of Chandler; daughters, Nelda Parks and husband Wayne, Chandler, Vanda Ballow and husband Bruce, LaRue, Kozette Phillips and husband Bill, Frankston; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joey Costlow, Rickey Parks, Thomas Gros, Steven Hansen, Greg Phillips and Johnny Ballow

Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
