Mrs. Katherine Gipson passed away last Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carlos Williams at Caruthersville. She was 93 years old.

Mrs. Talitha Catherine Gipson, 93, known familiarly to her friends here as "Grandma Gipson" died at her home in this city May 19, after a lengthly illness. She had lived in Caruthersville for 37 years.
Mrs. Gipson was born September 13, 1861, near Alamo, in Crockett county, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnson and spent her early life there. At the age of 12 she became a member of the Methodist church and had been a member of Eastwood Memorial Methodist church in this city for many years.
She was married, in Tennessee, to Daniel Burnett, who passed away seven years later, and in 1887 was married to S.R. Tidwell. The family moved to Missouri in 1907 and Mr. Tidwell died on December 9, 1917.
Her third husband, Amos Gipson, to whom she was married in 1920, died here on April 27, 1946.
Mrs. Gipson had eleven children and two sons, B.F. Burnett of this city and R.M. Tidwell of Bakersville and one daughter, Mrs. Charless Jane Williams of this city survive. She also leaves 42 grandchildren and 87 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church, with the Rev. Floyd V. Brower and the Rev. A.N. Burris of Anna, Ill. officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.

HUSBAND: Amos Gipson - Born Nov. 23, 1863 at Huntsville, Ala, died April 27, 1946 in Caruthersville, Mo. He had been a resident of Mo. since 1912 when he and his family removed to Caruthersville. He was married to Janie Sanders Moss in 1885 in Ala. She passed away in 1916 and on Jan. 31, 1920, he was married to Mrs. Kathryn Tidwell of Deering, Mo. He left 218 descendants, including progeny of his three step-children. (3 sons, 2 step-sons, 1 step-daughter, 76 grandchildren, 118 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren).
