Dorothy Lee Brasel Ables, 91, of Rockwood, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her home.

Born Oct. 9, 1917, in Rockwood, she was the daughter of Blaine and Callie Ann Griffis Brasel, both of whom preceded her in death.

A retired Rockwood Burlington Industries folder and inspector, she was a member of Clymersville Baptist Church, Rockwood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Mark Foster; sister, Ruby Abston; brothers, Fred Brasel, Howard "Shug" Brasel, Robert "Buddy" Brasel and Delmus Brasel.

Survivors include her husband, Allen T. Ables of Rockwood; daughers and sons-in-law, Margaret Ann and Sonny Foster of Rockwood, Lois and Tom Easter of Panama City, Fla., Betty Jean and J.W. Long and Wanda and Marshall Simcox, all of Rockwood; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Sheets and Helen and Mel Moore, all of Rockwood, and Betty Rayder of Tullahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Brasel of Rockwood; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood.

Funeral service will follow in the chapel, with the Rev. Charles Kelley officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood.
