I'd like to introduce you to my baby brother,Bubba Gene.
What a character. Always laughing and making a joke. Sparkling clear skyblue eyes that danced with mischief when he spoke.
He was born and raised in Toledo,Ohio. The son of Anna Lee Boyd and Harold Eugene Sr.
After school he joined the Marines and was stationed in San Diego. He left the service because of his rare illness, "Stiff Mans Disease". Simular to Rumatoid Arthritis. Afterwards he became a carpenter and made beautiful furniture, musical instuments, and cedar chests of all sizes. He made sure his sisters had several items to remember him by.
Gene was married a couple of times and had several children. But the light of his life was when he met and married Patricia Bolton in 1979 and lived in lower Michigan, Lawerenceburg Tn, and finally in Union Grove, Al. She also had 3 children. So I think the grand total of kids was 10. Because they lived so far away from us, we never really got to know the children personally and right now I can't remember all their names. Thats a shame but thats the way it was.
Gene died suddenly in 2000 of a cranial annurysm. He is buried next our sweet mother, Anna Lee Boyd/Mattox/Ashton in Spann Cemetary in Lawrenceburg, Tn. His sweet Pat also died a couple years later from cancer. They had a hard life together but now they rest in peace.
I'll monitor and correct somethings in this memorial and will post more photos soon.
Thank you Maryanne McCraken Highley for originaly entering Gene's memorial until I felt I was ready to do so.
