Marie Dorilla Sandoval affectionately known as "Dowey" or "Mom" died peacefully on Tuesday August 11, 2009 following a brief illness. Marie was born on July 25, 1938 to Concepcion and Della Trujillo.
Marie was preceded in death by her; son Ruben Eugene Sandoval Jr., great granddaughter Lillian Faith Barisano, parents Concepcion and Della Trujillo and in-laws Carmen and Angelina Garcia.
Marie graduated from Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, spent many years raising and putting her children first, then working various jobs throughout Santa Fe, finally working as an associate at Walmart for over 24 years where she met and spent time with many close friends, co-workers and customers.
Over the years, Marie spent time at various school functions, babysitting, taking care of nephews and nieces, participating in the Santa Fe Fiesta Council, helping with the Caballeros de Vargas and of course going to the casino.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Ruben Sandoval: her son Lawrence Trujillo; daughter's: Donna Wallis (Chris), their children Joshua, Franchesca, Nicole, Sean, Marissa and great granddaughter Abigail; Pamela Trujillo, her children Patrick and Ashley Martinez; Debbie Quintana, her children Bertram, Tanya and Ernest; Angela Sandoval and her children Chris and Ariel and Cynthia Marquez (Abel), their children Abel, Rebekah, Arian and Azi. Her siblings: Albert Trujillo (Lola), Joseph Abner Trujillo, Conception Trujillo (Lucy), Lizzie Trujillo, Catherine Gilbo (Bob), Elsie Stewart (Gary), Christina Trujillo, Theresa Wilson (Larry) and Marie Ann Gallegos (Angelo).
Serving as pallbearers will be: Joshua Lovato, Patrick Martinez, Bertram Quintana, Chris Sandoval and Abel Marquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Franchesca Barisano, Nicole Lovato, Sean Wallis, Marissa Wallis, Abigail Barisano, Ashley Martinez; Tanya Quintana, Ernest Quintana, Ariel Sandoval, Rebekah Marquez, Arian Marquez, Azi Marquez and godchild Vangie Madrid.
A rosary will be recited at St. Anne Catholic Church on Sunday August 16th beginning at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday August 17th at 12:00 noon at St. Anne Catholic Church, immediately followed by burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
