Christian was a wonderful tailor by trade from Denmark. He came to United States in 1903 with his sweetheart, Anna Jakobsen. They married and settled in Iowa and had six children. They later moved to Minnesota and had one more child. Christian could not hold onto a job because of alcohol. He left his young family in Minnesota in 1921. He died on a park bench in Chicago and was buried in Potter's Field Cemetery. His son, James, was the only child who continued to call him 'father'.
