Mrs. Caroline S. Riep, 78, of, 2811 Genesee St., formerly of 1302 Noyes St., died yesterday while visiting friends in the city.
She was born in Scranton, PA, daughter of Carl and Phillipine Young Schwald. She attended Scranton schools. She was married to Ernest M. Riep in 1918. The couple had lived in Utica since their marriage. Mr. Reip died in 1962.
Mrs. Riep was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. A. Edward Allen Sr. of Utica and a brother, Edgar Schwald of Clinton.
