Artaban Hoyt, b. March 18 (or 13) 1784, died Nov. 6th, 1852, Belvidere, Vermont. He was the son of Nathan and Mary Olmsted. m. 1. abt. 1804, Polly Hill, daughter of George and Betsy Hill, She died Oct. 30, 1814. married 2nd Mehitable Place. He married 3rd, (wife unknown). He was a farmer and lived in Fairfield and Belvedere, Vermont. He was an orderly sergeant in the War of 1812 and was wounded at Sackett's Harbor.

His father Nathan Hoyt lived at Ridgefield, Connecticut and removed to Fairfield, Vermont, d. May 10, 1849, Batavia, N.Y. Nathan Hoyt was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and is said to have fought at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
