Acker Evelyn Helen, 81, of Kendallville, died April 18 in her home. She was born July 23, 1917 in Kendallville to William and Maude (Thompson) Wagner. On July 25, 1936 in Albion she married Raymond Acker who died July 4, 1992. A lifetime area resident, she attended Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Phyllis) Simmons of Kendallville; 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Patrick Simmons of Butler, Phillip Simmons of Auburn, and Brian Simmons of Kendallville; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Nina Rasler of Avilla and Anna Bailey of Kendallville. She was preceded in death by 9 brothers. Funeral Thursday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. ~ 4-22-1999
