Lena W. Harris, 83, of Wagontown, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville.

She was the wife of the late Cecil Harris.

She was the daughter of the late Winfield and Ida Hershour McAllister.

Lena was a docent at Hibernia Park in Wagontown and a member of Hibernia Church.

She was an avid cook and enjoyed taking care of people.

She is survived by one daughter, Kay McCardell and her husband, Javier O'Keefe, of Earleville, Md.; a stepson, Harry Harris of Oxford; a stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Harris of California; step-grandchildren, Scott Harris and David Harris; and nieces and nephews, Ronald, Joyce, Darrell and Sharon Cook, Diane and John Woolleyham, Gloria and Thomas Hickey, and Christine and Wendell Higgins.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Cook and Anna Foley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Edward L. Collins Funeral Home Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, where friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m.

Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382.
