Alma Lucille Abner, 91, a homemaker, of Tupelo, and formerly of Jonestown, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home.

She was born August 22, 1917 in Brinkley, Ark. to Myrtis Stubbs Dillard and Tom Dillard. She was a Baptist.

Mrs. Abner is survived by her daughters, Mary Hulsey of Tupelo, Doris Funderburk of Bobo, Cookie McGregory of Rena Lara, and Patricia Mangum of Walls; her sons, James Abner of Lyon, Charles Abner and Junior Abner of Tupelo, and Mike Abner of Pontotoc; half-sisters, Dorothy Meer of Morgan City, La., and Marie Monday of Baton Rouge, La; half-brother, Lloyd Dillard of Amelia, La; 26 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mack Abner; her parents; two sisters, Vernie McCoy and Lilie Arnet; half-sister, Christine Herbert; and three brothers, George, Clem and Bill Dillard.

Visitation will be held from 9 am until services begin at 11 am Saturday, February 21 at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, February 21 at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale with her grandson, Carl Wayne Funderburk officiating.
