Dennis W. Danielson, 44, of La Crescent died at his home Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009.
He was born Dec. 21, 1964, in Spring Grove, to Stan and Sharon (Meyer) Danielson. Following his graduation from Spring Grove High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for two years until his discharge. He then moved to the Twin Cities area, where he worked for Gateway Foods and then moved to La Crescent, where he worked for Fleming Foods until the company's closing. For the past four years he has been employed in the maintenance department at WalzCraft Industries in La Crosse.
On Sept. 10, 1999, he married Heidi Schmidt in La Crosse.
He enjoyed all things outdoors and was an avid bow hunter. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his children.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jordan Wennes of Spring Grove and Zoe Ada Danielson at the family home; his father, Stan (Jeanette) Danielson of Crossville, Tenn.; his mother, Sharon Danielson of West Union, Iowa; a brother, Duane (Tiffany) Danielson of Mabel; father- and mother-in-law, Donald and ZoeAnn Trocinske of La Crescent; three brothers-in-law, Eric (Martha) Schmidt of Olathe, Kan., Paul (Sara) Trocinske of Woodbury, Minn., and Aaron Schmidt of Holmen; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.
Memorial services were Aug. 7, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent, with the Rev. Rolf Wangberg officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Gundersen Lutheran Oncology Department.
Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crescent assisted the family with arrangements.
