Vivian Ruth Smith Ardis - age 90, born November 28, 1917 in Paint Rock, AL passed away at a local nursing facility on September 21, 2008. She was a member of Saraland Church of Christ. Mrs. Ardis was preceded in death by her husband, John Ardis; parents, Joe and Bessie Smith; and sisters, Polly Manning, Marie Wilkerson, and Laura Nell Wallace. She is survived by her sons, Johnny Ardis (Glenelle) and Jimmy Ardis (Tawnya); grandchildren, John W. Ardis, Jr. (Melody), Michael Ardis (Danya), Debra Weideman (Michael, and Leigh Boutwell (DeWayne); seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Many thanks to all the staff members at North Mobile Ritrement Center for all of their care. Funeral services will be held from the graveside in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your charity of choice.
