Richard is survived by his sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Paul Harvey of Battle Creek; his nephew, Kevin (Leslie) Harvey of California; two great-nephews, Trayer and Paden Harvey and his special caregivers, Jody Hill and Sharan Mays. Richard is also survived by many wonderful people that he loved very much at the Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care Center and First Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ellen.
Richard has blessed so many people with his caring smile and wonderful sense of humor. He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano & singing. Richard was gifted with anything mechanical and his favorite cars were Corvettes. He had a great love for animals and was very proud of his military service & his church life at First Wesleyan Church, Battle Creek where he regularly attended.
At the request of the family, they will receive friends 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Richard's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Zuhl of the First Wesleyan Church, Battle Creek officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations to the Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care & Rehabilitation Center, 1150 E. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, 49014 would be appreciated.
