Ellen was born on January 9, 1924 in Baird, Texas. The only child of G.H. (Buddy) and Lucille Tankersley, she graduated from Baird High School in 1941 and attended Tarleton Junior College and McMurray College. She married Guy Nutt in 1952 and together they raised their children: Ann and Bill. Due to Guy's role with Soil Conservation Service, they enjoyed living in six states and Bangalore, India. Loving Idaho, they retired in Meridian in 1982. Her life was rich with meaningful and lasting friendships.
Ellen had a deep love for her family at Discovery Church where she was affectionately called "Mimi" by her grandchildren and many others that knew her. She loved the fellowship at Bible studies and retreats, enjoyed playing golf until her late 80s and bridge until this fall. She was an avid fan of Texas A&M football, the Dallas Cowboys, and the San Antonio Spurs, a true Texan throughout her life.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Guy, and son-in-law Eddie Kleibrink. She is survived by her children: Ann and Montie Ralstin of Meridian, and Bill and Jan Nutt of Austin, TX. Mimi cherished her grandchildren: Beth Christensen, Monica and Matt Hyde of Boise, Elizabeth and Eric Maberry of Houston, Tim and Cindy Nutt, Luke Nutt, and Elise Nutt of Austin, eleven great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews in Texas.
Her life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Discovery Church located in Boise at 1177 N. Roosevelt St.
Our family is thankful for the staff at Lighthouse Hospice and all those who impacted Ellen's life with love and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Memorial Fund at Discovery Church.
