-- Mr. Marvin "Buddy" Ray Taylor, 48, of 614 Carole Ln. died Sept. 6, 1990, at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Thrift Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hankins, Whittington & Williams-Dearborn Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor, a native of York County, S.C., owned Buddy's Lawn and Landscaping Service. He was a member of Paw Creek Veterans of Foreign Wars and Paw Creek American Legion posts.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce; son, Marvin Taylor Jr. of Fort Mill, S.C.; daughter, Mrs. Tammy Pope; brothers, Johnnie Taylor of Fort Mill, Bennie Taylor Jr.; sister, Mrs. Jessie Beam of Rock Hill; half brothers, Donald Taylor, Richard Taylor, Sammie White, Gene White, all of Lowrys, S.C.; one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 500 E. Morehead St., Suite 211, Charlotte, N.C. 28202.
