Rosary will be recited for Edgar J. Rust, 85, of 1906 Arizona, retired owner-operator of the Rust Drive-in Grocery Store, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sparkman's Oak Cliff Funeral Chapel, 315 S. Hampton.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Hill Cemetery. Mr. Rust died Monday in Dallas.
A native of Cedar Hill, Mr. Rust was a graduate of the Old Bryan High School. He attended St. Edward's College in Austin and St. Benedict's College in Atchinson, Kan. He had been in the grocery business in Dallas for 50 years and owned his store at 111 E. Woodin for 10 years until his retirement in 1946.
Mr. Rust was a member of St. James Catholic Church and served as sacristan at the church for 25 years. He was a member of Holy Name Society, the 3rd Order of St. Francis, Mayflower Colony organization and Old Jim Town and Five Mile School organizations.
He was a historian for the Rust reunion held annually at Cleburne, Johnson County.
