Lowell Thomas Gentry, Sr., 75, of Dyersburg, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at Christian Care Center of Rutherford County in Smyrna.

He was a retired co-owner of Genson, Inc., member of United Methodist Church, member of American General Contractors Assoc. and former member of Tennessee Army National Guard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kippie Gentry Scarborough and husband, Brian, and Stacey Gentry, all of Murfreesboro; a son, Tommy Gentry and wife, Kathy, of Dyersburg; two brothers, Grady Gentry, Jr. of Dyersburg and Ted Gentry of Newbern; seven grandchildren, Levi Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, Kyle Gentry, Eric Gentry, Ty Scarborough, Peyton Sorrell and Eli Scarborough; and two great-grandsons, Quade Gentry and Jake Gentry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Moore Gentry, whom he was married to for 38 years; his parents, Grady and Ora Epperson Gentry; and a brother, Dickie Gentry.

Pallbearers will be Brian Scarborough, Levi Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, Ty Scarborough, Peyton Sorrell, Jon Gentry and Eli Scarborough.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Pilots for Patients, 3127 Mercedes Drive, Monroe, LA 71201 or to Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
