Christian Barnett was a farmer and owned land in both Huntingdon and Bedford Counties. On June 5, 1812 he purchased 65 acres from his father for the sum of $466.67. This tract of land was located partly in Bedford County, while the balance was located in Union and Hopewell Townships of Huntingdon County. His father signed the deed in German (Huntingdon County Deed Book N - 1, page 459). He also obtained by warrantee from the State, 100 acres in Huntingdon County, date of survey, Sep 20, 1820 (Pennsylvania Archives, Third Series, Volume XXV)

Christian and Elizabeth are buried at Old Ray's Hill Cemetery in Breezewood, located on a rise near the Post House Restaurant at the Breezewood Exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Route 70 at Breezewood, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. At the time of his death, Christian was a very wealthy man. He left to his heirs an estate valued at over thirty two thousand dollars.
