Vada A. Banks, 65, of 25 Hughes Avenue, wife of Douglas Banks, died at 8:35am Sunday at her home.
A native of Clark County, she was the daughter of the late Zack and Elizabeth S. Shumate, and was a retired GTE Sylvania employee with 30 years of service and a member of the Ark of Mercy Church of God.
Additional survivors include 3 daughters, Christine Deaton and Susan McBride of Winchester and Donna Tipton of Henderson, KY; 2 step-children, Christopher Banks and Tammy Stanfield, both of Montgomery Co.; 9 grandchildren, Jessica Noble, JoAnna Stanfield, Christina McBride, Zachary Noble, Joshua McBride, Allen Stanfield, Cody Rose, Kristian McGuire and Steven McGuire; 5 great-grandchildren, Veronica Flack, Michael Estepp, Kaliyah McBride, Brayden Noble and Hayden Noble; 2 sisters, Christine Hubbard of Clark Co. and Margie McCuddy of Winchester; 2 brothers, Eugene Shumate of Clay City and Bill Shumate of Winchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted at 10:00am Wednesday at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Janice Claypoole. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Clifford McCuddy, Cody Rose, Monte McBride, Joshua McBride, Eugene Shumate and Bill Shumate.
