Mary Louise Forbes Albaugh passed away on Sunday morning, Aug. 9, 2009, at the Lodge at Roo Lan, an assisted living facility in Lacey, Wash. She was the sister of The Rev. Wayne Forbes, pastor of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Portland. Mary Louise was born May 15, 1930, in Ventura, Calif. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and St. Catherine's Academy in Ventura and the University of California at Santa Barbara. She entered the Women's Army Corps and served at both the Presidio in San Francisco and the Army base in Heidelberg, Germany. Mary Louise was for some years a discalced Carmelite nun at the convents in Sacramento, Calif., and Salt Lake City. Upon being dispensed from her vows she worked for some time in Los Angeles as an executive secretary for a number of firms including the ALS Foundation. She married Dennis Albaugh and resided in Woodland Hills, Calif., until they moved to Olympia in 1990, and had a home on Hood Canal. Dennis died in 1999. Mary Louise's parents, Harry and Bernice Forbes, also predeceased her, Harry in 1988, and Bernice in 2004. In addition to her brother, Wayne, Mary Louise is survived by several cousins in California. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
