Milford was held in slavery for psrt of his life at Marydale Plantation, Tensas Parish, Louisiana. Milford later married Rebecca Maner and they had at least three children. After Emancipation, Milford continued to farm at Marydale Plantation.

Louisiana State Board of Health, Death Cert. Reg. # 5614. Death Certificate says he was interred at Marydale Plantation. This may not be correct.
