Sadie Lopez, 51, of Nageezi, our beloved daughter, sister and auntie ("Momma Sadie") passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at SJRMC in Farmington. She was born March 15, 1958, to Wilson and Betty Lopez at BIC in Otis.
She enjoyed listening to KOOL Oldies 104.5 and Waylon Jennings.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Lucy Werito; paternal grandparents, Bob Lope and Lucy Chavez; her aunt, Nellie Jacquez; her uncles, Junior and Donald Werito and William Chavez Sr.; little sister, Jeanette Lopez; cousins, Bill, Elmer, Emerson, Marshall, Everett Werito, Katherine Werito, Lorraine, Sandra, Latesha and Lazarez Jacquez.
She is survived by her parents; her sisters, Susan Begay of Farmington, Rosie Chee and Cornelia Lopez, both of Nageezi, and her brothers, Ray, Dickie and Elbert Lopez, all of Nageezi. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, Luther Lopez, Susan Cruz, Lula Begay, Henderson Begay, all of Farmington, Clifton Benally of Albuerqurque, Roxane and Rickson Chee Jr., Rhonda, Kandra, Mar, Ty, Cecily, Waylon, BJ and Clayton Lopez, all of Nageezi.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Escrito LDS Church in Escrito.
Her final resting place will be at the LDS Cemetery in Escrito.
Pallbearers are Elbert Lopez, Clifton Benally, Rickson Chee Jr. , Lee Murphy, Thomas Lewis, Terry Ettcity, Gary Lopez Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be her parents, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
Sadie and her special smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
