Charles H. Burr, 84, 1120 Kirkwood Avenue, a life time resident of Johnson County, died at Mercy Hospital Monday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Beckman-Butherus Funeral Home, with burial in the Lone Tree Cemetery. The Rev. Jack L. Zerwas of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Burr was born near Lone Tree March 14, 1885, to Levi P. and Elizabeth Matthiesen Burr. He married Louise Schuessler Dec. 28, 1912, in Lone Tree. The couple farmed near Lone Tree , until moving to Iowa City in 1949. Mrs. Burr died in 1954.

Mr. Burr was married in 1963 to Mrs. Lena Kinyon, who died in 1965.

He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Lone Tree , the Eagles Lodge, the West Side Community Club and had been active in the Golden Age for more than 10 years.

Surviving are one son, Wayne of Lone Tree; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Shirley) Sundal of Minneapolis; a brother, Clarence of Iowa City, and one grandson.

A brother died earlier.
