Ollie Michael Braziel, 61, of Bruceville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 15, at Smith Cemetery.
Ollie was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, to the late Alfred Lawrence and Marie Frances Lydon Braziel. He worked for Mrs. Bairds Bread for 23 years and he worked for Trane Company in McGregor for five years. He was a gatekeeper for the Corp. Of Engineers. On August 7, 1976, he married Carolyn Renee Cash in McLennan County, Texas, and they divorced on July 11, 1985. On February 21, 1987, he married Nola Mae Courtney in McLennan County, Texas. He loved watching sports, fishing, deer hunting, and camping.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Coral Sea Air Craft Carrier.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nina Carol Braziel.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Mae Braziel, of Bruceville; son, Colt Lawrence Braziel, of Waco; daughter, Sonja Renee Braziel, of Dallas; step-son, Gaylon Bond and wife, Christina, of Eddy; grandchildren, Roger and Elisabeth Meridith; sisters, Gitty Bates and husband, Dewayne, of Gatesville, and Amy Burbank and husband, Lloyd, of Bruceville; brother, Larry Braziel and wife, Debbie, of Gatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
