Louis Philip "Phil" Albert, 85, of Farmington, passed away on Monday (August 10, 2009) at St. Francis Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jeannine (Caron) Albert.


He was born on August 10, 1924 in St. Agatha, Maine to the late Felix and Azilda (Michaud) Albert.


Phil was a 40 year resident of Plainville and resided in Farmington for the last 17 years. He was employed with Pratt & Whitney in Southington as the department head man for 32 years before retiring in 1988. Phil also worked with St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville for 20 years. In his younger days he was a volunteer fireman and worked with St. Agatha Cemetery in Maine. He was involved for many years with the Plainville Food Pantry and was a sexton with the parish in St. Agatha, ME.


Phil enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He was very creative and would make all sorts of things. Above all he cherished the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He would always attend his grandchildren's events and enjoyed family gatherings. Phil will be remembered for his playful sense of humor and his legacy will live on through his family.


Along with his wife Jeannine Albert of Farmington, he leaves his five children Michael Albert and his wife Arlene of Bristol, Dan Albert and his wife Linda of Southington, Sue Dornfried and her husband Kent of Farmington, Dave Albert and his wife Patti of Plainville and Richard Albert and his wife Susan of Plantsville; 12 grandchildren Kevin, Nicholas, Jodi, Casey, and Jamie Albert, Bryan and Amy Dornfried, Matthew, Christopher, Zachary, Megan and Jacob Albert. He also leaves two brothers Jean Albert and his wife Yvette of Farmington and Roger Albert of New Jersey, two sisters Françoise Sirois and her husband Valere of Maine and Margaret Lapine of West Hartford, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Joseph Albert, two brothers Joseph and Leo, and three sisters Blanche, Juliette, and Theresa.


A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, Farmington.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
Family and friends may gather on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
