Pearl Graham Striker Merrick was one of ten children born to George and Sarah Graham. Pearl was a lively, fashionable young lady that was very close to her sister Janet (Graham-Reuter). Pearl married my grandfather, Clifford Striker, and sadly, Grampa Clifford passed away when my dad, Charles Graham Striker, was ten months old. Being widowed with a young child, my great aunt and uncle (Irving and Janet Reuter) stepped in to help raise and mentor my father. A few years passed and Pearl met up with an old beau, Frank Merrick, of whom Pearl believed to have been killed in WWI. Frank and Pearl were married for a short time before Frank succumbed to a sudden heart attack, once again leaving Pearl widowed with a young child. Great Uncle Irving and Great Aunt Janet made sure my father Charles had the best of everything including schooling and travel. Sadly, Uncle Irving passed away in 1972. Pearl lived a long, interesting life and sadly passed away on my birthday in 1983. Janet passed away the following year. They were extremely intelligent beautiful people that I wished I could have spent more time with. Rest in peace grandma.
