Sophia was the only daughter of Zenas Stetson & Sophia Cushing Sturtevant. She had four brothers; Zenas, Seth, Hezekiah, and Ephraim.
Sophia was married on 12 Apr 1843 at Sumner, Oxford County, Maine to Harrison Bonney, the son of John Robinson Bonney and Naoma Ford. She gave birth to their only child Abigail "Abbie" Cushing Bonney about ten months later on on 3 Feb 1844.
Sadly Sophia died less than three months after Abbie's birth. She is buried near her parents and three of her four brothers in the Fields Hill Cemetery.
Harrison Bonney remarried in 1849. He and his second wife Louisa Keene Bonney had three children. The eldest child was named Sophia.
Abbie would grow up and marry John Elliot Torrey and had two children of her own; Effie and Burton. Abbie is buried with her husband and both of her children.
