Four Killed and another Hurt: When Automobile Party from Christian County was Struck by Passenger Train Near Cedar Bluff Sunday Afternoon -- Parties well known in Princeton. Mrs. Finis Rodgers, One of those killed, is a sister of W. H. Burress. Hotel Proprietor in this City.

The most pathetic accidents that ever occurred in Caldwell County, was that of Sunday afternoon, when an automobile containing five persons, was struck by passenger train No.136, at Hopson Crossing near Cedar Bluff, three of the occupants being instantly killed and the fourth living only a few minutes, while the fifth was seriously internally injured and is not expected to recover, up to this hour never regained consciousness.

Those killed were Mrs. Finis Rodgers, age 54, Milton McNeely, age 22, Mrs. (Pearl) Milton McNeely, age 21, and Carl McNeely, the four month old child of Mr. and Mrs. Milton McNeely. . .. Mrs. McNeely lived only a few minutes, and when death came, still had the baby clutched in her arms, although thrown a distance of several feet. ...

....The bodies of Mrs. Rodgers, Mr. and Mrs. (Pearl) McNeely and baby, were taken from Princeton yesterday at noon in three hearses, Mrs. McNeely and baby (Carl) being buried in the same coffin, to the Rodgers graveyard in Christian County, where they were interred in the same grave, a very sad and impressive funeral service being rendered by the Rev. John W. T. Givens, of the city, in the presence of grief stricken friends and relatives.
