Helen Loree Patterson Abercrombie, 86, widow of Maxie Allen Abercrombie, of Bills Son Drive died July 29, 2009, at her home.

Born in Clinton, SC, she was a daughter of the late Eloree Starnes and Oscar Patterson of Cross Anchor, SC. Mrs. Abercrombie was a former employee of Whitten Center, Laurens Memorial Home, and co-owned Max Trading Post. She was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Harmon and Maxine Shockley, both of Laurens, SC; four grandchildren, Gene Harmon, Vickie Campbell, Debra Galindo and Chris Shockley, all of Laurens, SC; five great-grandchildren, Desean Shockley, Kayla Shockley, Carl Campbell, and Bryan Campbell, all of Laurens, SC, and Joey Harmon of Charleston, SC; three great-great-grandchildren, Justin Shockley, Cheyanne Campbell, and Karley Campbell, all of Laurens, SC; one brother, Leroy Patterson and wife, Sara of Spartanburg, SC; and one sister, Gladys Brown and husband, Buford of Union, SC.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, R.C. Patterson; a grandson, Allen Shockley; and a great-grandson, Damien Alexander Shockley.
