Irvy Ayers

Funeral services for Irvy Ayers, 81, of 202 Cornell, Fritch, will be at 2 p.m. Friday from the First United Methodist Church in Fritch with the Rev. Leroy Baker, pastor, officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Edgar Irvine, pastor of the Bunavista Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.

Ayers was dead on arrival at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, four daughters, one sister 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Irvy Ayers, 81, of 202 Cornell, Fritch, are pending with Simpson Funeral Home.

Ayers was dead on arrival at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo at 2 a.m. today.

He was born Oct. 15, 1891 in Chilicothe [sic] and moved to Borger in 1946, and has been a resident of Fritch for the past 15 years.

He was retired from Phillips Petroleum Company and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fritch.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey of the home; two sons, Cecil of Lubbock, Langston of Louisville, Ky; four daughters, Mrs. Henry Williams of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Mrs. Leroy Pennington of Sulphur, La., Mrs. H.B. Gilbert of Dallas, Mrs. W.M. Ernest of Spring Lake; one sister, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
